January round-up

Oh dear me. I have really fallen off the blogging horse this winter. It has been a pretty slow and uneventful one, so perhaps that is why. Ample blogging time (in theory) but lack of material.
These pictures are all from January, the same day I think. (Though I can't remember for sure as it was last month.) :)
It was our largest "snowstorm" (term used very loosely) this winter; and that fact still holds true over a month later. We have had a very mild winter (temps too, not just lack of snow), and you will hear no complaints here. :) Though I do love my snow days, it is nice not having to deal with snow and ice every couple days.
I am pretty sure our total snowfall thus far this like 5 inches. Definitely less than 10. Crazy compared to last winter especially. :)
So, more posting to come. I still owe you the bowling video from our Seattle trip, so that should hopefully appear here soon. It's a hoot. :) Also perhaps a running update, and maybe some of the stuff we have done in February. :)
Daniel is still feeling the horses and donks in the AM. They are fun. :)
I can't remember if I ever said but they are no longer the pregnant horses, they moved elsewhere. But we have 3 lovely non-pregnant horses keeping Daniel fairly busy. Perhaps I will snap a few pictures of them soon. :)

So more to come. I will try not to be so absent from the dear blog. :)

Ha, this was a great blog! I can really relate to what Dan got with the shin splints, I got realllly into running this last rotation in Iraq and over trained and got terrible shin splints. My medics told me to take minimum of 10 days off and I couldn't; so I ignored what he said and further injured myself (its that McDowell stubborness and will we all got from old Papa). Anywho, one of the lessons I learned from that was shoe rotation, I already use great running shoes (my choice is Brooks Adrenaline GTS's) but also the fact that once you've ran a couple hundred miles in them and shin splints or other symptoms start returning, its time for a new pair. So now, in my new quest to diet and run, I am rotating two pairs of GTS Adrenaline 12's and keeping a log of mileage. I am hoping that by doing this, I can avoid a repeat of what happened last year. Dan, I'm proud of you and your discipline to run, Josh says your fast :) Keep it up!
