October was quite a whirlwind. Is it really November already? I can't believe how fast fall is flying by. And with winter-esque temperatures in Massachusetts lately (as well as two days of [minimal] snow in October) winter is really knocking on the door.
But once upon a time it was fall. So here we go... :)
This doesn't really have anything to do with anything. We just have a cute pumpkin (still) on our porch. I think since it is not carved it can remain up through Thanksgiving as fall-decor. :)
Hahaha, I can't believe I am talking about going to the beach and snow in the same post. But, it is what it is, so we will go with it. :) We had AWESOME (80 degree) weather for Columbus Day weekend, so Daniel and I decided to go to the beach one last hurrah.
We weren't the only ones. :)
Even though the weather was absolutely beautiful, you could feel fall in the air. It was a lovely way to spend the long weekend though....never something we thought we would be able to do in Massachusetts in the middle of October!
Then the real fall weather rolled in and our pumpkin (and the grass beyond) looked like this. But not even 2 days ago our porch has snow and ice on it (we don't understand how it stayed so long! We only got an inch of snow on October 30th, and the temps were in the 40's - low 50's during the day, though below freezing at night. It was a New England mystery...) Lets just say I miss the leaves. :)
Though leaves meant (/means. Even with the snow we still have leaves on the trees) lots of raking. But it is okay, Daniel has the leaf blower after all. :)
Another fall project (though this was actually part of our work for free rent arrangement) was staining our little porch. I helped D do the first coat one Sunday, and he did the second all by himself. There is no after picture, but it looks much improved. :)
Also, I have long since finished the great coffee table project but have yet to take "after" pictures. Though we have happily been using it in the living room for weeks. So that should hopefully be coming soon. Plus, my parents visited for my b-day, so of course that meant we went on all sorts of fun adventures. :) More to come. :)
