So for the second weekend in July we had some more exciting activities. Saturday was actually pretty low key, as D did not want to go to the beach for some reason; so we just stayed in. Wait, there may have been thunderstorms. Or he was sunburned from working outside. I think there was a reason, but I cannot remember for the life of me.
On Sunday we visited a church in Newburyport, and then wandered across the street to check out the Newburyport Farmers Market. We did not end up getting anything but they did have a huge variety of things, from produce, to meats, to homemade pasta/sauce!
Daniel in his cool new red pants. :)
Cute streets in Newburyport.
So not too far from where we live there is this Greek Hellenic Center (fun fact, the people whose property we live on now used to own this place and sold it to the Greeks before they moved to their current residence) that was hosting a Greek Festival (and Clambake; how those two go together I will never know...only is Massachusetts) this weekend! (lots of parenthesis, sorry about that). :) My family loves to attend a certain Greek festival back in Seattle (St. someone or other), so I thought it would be fun to check out this one.
Unfortunately, this is the only picture I have because unfortunately, we were rather disappointed. First of all, we had to pay $3 each, just to get in! We only brought $20 cash, so that left us with $14 for lunch, but gyros cost $7 each, so no drink for D (I had my water bottle) and definitely no Greek pastries. Oh and the lamb in the gyro tasted like breakfast sausage, but was edible. There were a few random craft tables but over all the whole thing was pretty small...and I couldn't figure out why they were charging money to get in. There was live music and dancing, but that started after we left. To be honest we were there less than an hour and it put Daniel into a mood. Oh well, the gyros were decent; though I do not expect us to go again next year. :)
We came home to visit the chickens, which brightened our mood a bit because 2 chicks were born just a few days before!
Such sweet little guys.
And since it was hot and our people were gone for the day, it seemed like a good day to relax by the pool. (To be clear, we could technically use the pool whenever we want, and D often does when it is hot and he is cleaning it. It just feels funny to use it when they are home as it is right by "their side" of the house.)
Here is D in pool boy mode.
We were on dog duty so we brought them outside to relax with us. Hi Otter, hi Tess!
I am the dog whisperer. :)

But I guess they like Daniel okay too. :)
Aside from the slight downer that was the Greek Festival, it was a lovely and relaxing weekend. I love summertime!
