Today, Daniel turned in his very last paper of his Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary career. It should be noted that he does have to make a final presentation to a Professor on Wednesday, but I am not counting that right now. :) Technically, Friday (April 29th) was the day all his work was due; but one of his professors told the class they could turn in their paper on Monday. Since D had 5 or so other papers he was working on, he decided to take advantage of the slight extension. It definitely made his final days a little less intense.
So we are celebrating in the McDowell house this evening as Daniel is an almost-free man! To some extent at least. I am still a bit in shock to think of him as "done" with school. Of course he is going to begin studying for the GRE's pretty much immediately, and will begin working on PhD applications in the late summer/fall, but his time at Gordon-Conwell is now past.
Of course, last week Daniel told me over breakfast that he would love to continue studying right now, he is not really too excited for his break. There just isn't really anything else in his field he can study at Gordon-Conwell. And we don't want to take out any more school loans than we have to. :)
So, congratulations to my dear husband. You have been a dedicated (and extremely busy!) student since September 2007 and I can't believe you are done. My, how the time has flown. I am excited for this slight "break" you can take, and for all the fun things we will be able to do this year, without a book to read for school or paper to finish up coming along. I love you and am so proud of all you have done; 3 Master's degrees in less than 4 years...wow! You are awesome.
