Ah, finally, the long awaited apartment pictures are here. Sorry for the delay, we have honestly been working on it non-stop since we moved in one month ago. While there are still a few more things left to do/purchase, we feel comfortable enough with how it is now to post some pictures. Nothing drastic should change after this, it is mostly little things like towels for the guest bathroom, lighting (besides desk lamps) in the office, etc.
I will start with a few of the pictures we took while working on the place, then we will do some before and after pictures. :)

Daniel opening the first can of primer. Our working timeline was as follows...Tuesday morning (after memorial day) Daniel, Ryan, and Emily dropped me off at work. They then went down to the bus stations where Ryan and Emily would be catching their bus to NYC. Daniel went to Home Depot on the way back and picked up all of our painting supplies (we had already picked out colors) For the rest of the day Daniel went around the apartment pulling out nails, filling holes, sanding, and prepping for the painting. Daniel came down to pick me up from work and we picked up some food, swung by our old apartment to pick up a load of stuff, and then came to the new apartment to get to work. Daniel was still doing prep work, but I begged to start priming. I really do love painting rooms, I just can't deal with all the mindless prep-work. :) So priming began that night...
Wednesday Daniel stayed at our old apartment in the morning to continue work on our packing. After work I swung by to pick him up and we continued priming and finished priming and started painting the hallway that night. For the record, priming stinks (literally and figuratively) and it is very difficult to remove from your skin. Unfortunately for us, Daniel and I are messy painters. :)
Thursday morning I dropped Daniel off at the apartment on my way to work. He painted all the ceilings white before he continued painting. He painted our bedroom, guest room and started the guest bathroom (we ran out of paint). I helped him do what we could to the guest bathroom, and we both painted the living room and started on the kitchen.

Painting the living room my beloved mustard yellow. :)
For the most part Daniel used the roller and I used the edger.

Starting the prep the kitchen.

Painting the kitchen.
Friday morning I dropped Daniel off at the apartment again. I took a half-day because we needed to finish as much as possible that day, because we were moving in on Saturday! I swung by Home Depot on my way home to pick up extra paint for the guest bathroom and kitchen as well as picking up the master bathroom color I had just decided on.
Overwhelmed with the thought of doing the second coat on the entire kitchen. The kitchen was kind of my baby that day since I did the entire second coat myself, as Daniel was doing other random things. He ran over a few more loads from our old apartment, picked up new light switch/outlet plates, white paint for the trim, cleaning the windows, etc, etc.

After the second coat was done on the kitchen, I finished the guest bathroom as well. I did general touch-up around the other rooms, and put the first coast down on our master bedroom. I also did all the baseboard trim that night, as we figured that would be hardest to do once all the furniture arrived. I know it sounds like I did everything, but Daniel was working very hard too! We were up until about 3 AM when we finally decided enough was enough and got some sleep before moving day.
Unfortunately, we picked a busy weekend to move as many of our friends were out of town! We are grateful for all the help we had though, but it made for a very exhausting day. :)

Beck looking super cute and pregnant on moving day. :)
Sunday/Monday night (there was a power outage Sunday!) getting the last of our things from the old apartment and doing the final cleaning. Taking off our picture from the residents wall! :(
And finally, saying good-bye to the old apartment after an exhausting week of painting and moving. :)
Since the move we have done about a bajillion other things, like touch-up all of the trim, most of the doors (some still to do), finished the second coat on the master bathroom, Daniel touched-up all the window panes, replaced all the light switches and outlet plugs (some were random colors from being painted over my previous tenants), replaced all the window shades, removed carpet, etc., etc., etc. Like I said, we have been busy!
And now, for the before and after pictures! This post is already long, so I will mostly let the pictures speak for themselves...

The hallway, first thing you see when you walk in our front door, formerly lime green...

Now, a nice, neutral grayish-tan.
Immediately on the right is the living room, formerly flesh-colored (with the only painted over door in the whole place - fortunately!)
Now, my favorite color, a lovely mustard yellow. :)
With a white door! :) This wall is still a little bare, but we are trying to figure out what to do with it.

Further down the hallway on the right is the guest bathroom. It was formerly two-toned (pale yellow and flesh color from the living room) with carpet!

Now, a nice dark gray with no carpet. :)

Even further down the hall on the right is the formerly BRIGHT PURPLE guest bedroom/office. As you can see in the bottom left corner of the picture the dark blue carpet way a little patchy... (Don't worry the trunk is ours, we found it on the side of the road for free! They did leave us some presents though...)

Now the carpet is gone and the walls are a nice light steel-blue.

After you enter our front door, turning left would lead you to the kitchen which was a light yellow. Please note the grease stains on the wall, as well as our new pet beta fish (now named alpha beta) mounted on the wall. :)

Now a nice, bright green! :) Daniel must take the credit for this color, as I wanted a lighter, more sage green. We are both very happy with his decision though. :)
Alpha Beta how has a home on the table...we still need to figure out where to put him...

Still want to replace the nasty curtain...

The doorway in the kitchen picture above leads of the formerly light blue master bathroom.

Now, a deep blue to match our shower curtain. :)

And finally, through the master bathroom, you reach the master bedroom, formerly a pumpkin color. The color in and of itself really isn't bad, probably my favorite of all the original colors, it just doesn't really go with our bedroom furniture/bedspread.
The bedroom is now actually the same color as the hallway, a grayish-tan.
Phew, and that's it! Two long posts in a row...and we are still not caught up. :) Now I have some reading to do and dinner to make, everyone have a great Sunday evening!
