beach #2

The weather around here has improved quite a bit in the last few days, and the 80's are expected for the next week. With this in mind, and knowing that the winter's are going to be pretty rough, Daniel and I have decided to try and visit as many beaches as possible. Today Daniel and I ventured to Ispwich to go to "Crane beach".

The beach was beautiful, the only downside was the many bugs, but it was quite entertaining to watch the seagulls run around trying to eat them.

The water was beautiful, very clear, but also very cold (dang Atlantic). Daniel actually ventured in all the way, I could only make it in to my knees. :)

On the way back to the school we stopped at Russell Orchards Farm and Winery. We hope to go apple picking sometime in the future(and other fruits when they are in season) but for today we settled for some pre-picked apples, cold apple cider, AMAZING apple cider donuts, and some hard cider (shh, don't tell). There is also an apple and wine tasting festival coming up in mid-November (they offer all kinds of fruit wines made with fruits from their orchard), so we hope to make it to that too.

In other news, today was my "first day" at my job at Salem State College. I say it in quotes because I haven't officially been hired yet (the process is a long one going through many different chains) but my boss wanted me to come in for a couple of hours to start to set up my desk a big and start filling out some paper work. I am going in tomorrow for a staff meeting too, so I am excited and looking forward to meeting people and learning my way around an office. :)
